Michael Leuwol has been appointed as the new Executive Chef of The Westin Resort & Spa Ubud, Bali marking a significant milestone in his culinary career. With more than two decades of experience across luxury hospitality brands in Indonesia and internationally, Chef Michael will lead the resort's culinary operations and oversee the continued evolution of its dining experiences.
A seasoned culinary professional, Chef Michael joins the resort from The Westin Resort Nusa Dua Bali, where he most recently served as Executive Sous Chef after holding the role of Executive Pastry Chef. Throughout his career, he has built an impressive portfolio working with renowned hospitality brands, including Banyan Tree Al Ula, Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort, Six Senses Uluwatu, Alila Seminyak and Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts Bali. He has also contributed to numerous hotel openings and culinary initiatives across the region.
Chef Michael is recognised for his expertise in pastries and baking, menu development, kitchen leadership and culinary innovation. He has received several prestigious accolades throughout his career, including winning the MLA Black Box Culinary Challenge in Indonesia and being awarded the Best Dessert prize at the MLA Black Box Culinary Challenge Global Final in Australia.

In his role as Executive Chef, Michael will oversee all culinary operations across the resort's restaurants and dining venues.
