Japanese café culture has found a new home on the shores of Nusa Dua with the opening of AMIKAN by SIKI, Bali's first modern Japanese beachfront café. More than simply a name, AMIKAN tells the story behind the café itself.
Derived from the Balinese phrase "amik-amikan," meaning handmade snacks or small everyday treats, the name reflects the warmth, generosity, and simple pleasures that are deeply rooted in Balinese culture. At the same time, it draws inspiration from the Japanese word "mikan" (みかん)—the sweet mandarin orange that has long symbolised warmth, comfort, prosperity, and moments shared with loved ones.
Together, these two meanings beautifully capture what AMIKAN hopes to become: a welcoming place where people gather over thoughtfully crafted drinks, delicious food, and meaningful conversation.
Located within The Bay, Nusa Dua, AMIKAN is the latest concept from the team behind SIKI, the acclaimed Japanese restaurant known for bringing together Japanese craftsmanship and Balinese soul. Open daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, the café welcomes guests throughout the day, whether it's for a leisurely breakfast by the beach, a wholesome Japanese lunch, an afternoon taro or matcha latte with friends, or tropical cocktails as the sun sets into golden hour.

Guests can choose from comforting classics like the Beef Menchi Katsu Sando and Tori Katsu Sando, the fresh and vibrant Fruit Sando, or the café's signature Seafood Katsu Sando—layered with a crispy, juicy fresh seafood patty, crunchy cabbage slaw, and house-made oshinko tartare.
