Syrco BASÈ will join this year’s Ubud Food Festival with a special one-night-only four hands collaboration between two Michelin-starred chef Syrco Bakker and Australian chef Ben Devlin of Pipit on Sunday, 31 May 2026.

Titled Grounded: Syrco BASÈ x Pipit in the Garden, the collaboration brings together two chefs connected by a shared approach to cooking rooted in nature, provenance, and ingredient storytelling. Held within the lush garden setting of Syrco BASÈ in Ubud, the evening will present a refined menu shaped by Bali’s terroir and native Australian flavours, interpreted through local produce, creativity, and precision.

Since opening in Ubud in January 2024, Syrco BASÈ has continued to establish itself as one of Indonesia’s leading dining destinations through its guiding principles of Traceability, Nature, and Transparency (TNT). The culinary hub works closely with local farmers, fishers, artisans, and producers across the archipelago, creating dining experiences that connect guests not only to flavour, but also to the people and stories behind every ingredient.

For this collaboration, Chef Ben Devlin will bring his produce-driven philosophy and deep respect for native Australian ingredients into dialogue with the richness of Indonesia’s biodiversity. Together, Chef Syrco and Chef Ben will craft a menu that reflects both landscapes and culinary identities, balancing native Australian flavours with carefully sourced Balinese ingredients selected through Syrco BASÈ’s TNT philosophy.

The evening will also offer guests an exclusive preview of several creations from Syrco BASÈ’s upcoming Summer 2026 menu, marking the next evolution of the restaurant’s culinary direction.

“Collaboration has always been an important part of how we learn, grow, and exchange ideas,” shares Chef Syrco Bakker. “With Ben, there is a shared respect for ingredients, for nature, and for the communities behind the produce. This dinner is about bringing those stories together through a menu that feels honest, expressive, and grounded in place.”

Known for his acclaimed restaurant Pipit in New South Wales, Chef Ben Devlin is recognised for cuisine deeply connected to local produce, native Australian ingredients, and sustainable sourcing practices. His collaboration with Syrco BASÈ reflects a meeting point between two regions equally rich in biodiversity, tradition, and culinary culture.

Beyond the four hands dinner, Syrco BASÈ will also take part in the official Ubud Food Festival After Party in collaboration with 3 Peaks Gin alongside a lineup of guest bartenders and industry talents, including Aris Sanjaya from Islander, Arya Dharmayasa from L’Atelier by Cyril Kongo, Aditya from Ibu Susu, and Cok Angga from Ferro Ubud. Guests attending the celebration can enjoy complimentary welcome cocktails and special signature drinks presented throughout the evening by the Syrco BASÈ Bar team and guest bartenders.

With only 40 seats available, Grounded: Syrco BASÈ x Pipit in the Garden invites guests into an evening of bold flavours, creativity, and cultural exchange, celebrating craftsmanship and the beauty of products shaped with purpose.
