Badung invests in roads and infrastructure to ease congestion, improve access, and support high-quality tourism growth in Bali.

The Badung Regency Government is placing infrastructure development at the heart of its strategy to realise a more refined and sustainable vision for tourism.

“To support this priority agenda, we have secured a financing scheme of approximately Rp2.9 trillion,” said Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa during the Bali Provincial Coordination Meeting in Denpasar.

The funding will be directed towards key infrastructure projects, including the construction of a western ring road aimed at easing congestion along the busy corridor between Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park and Uluwatu. Construction has already commenced this year, with completion targeted for 2027.

Additional developments include improved road access within the Uluwatu tourism zone extending to Melasti Beach, as well as new routes connecting Berawa to Teuku Umar Barat. Construction on the Berawa road has begun, with completion expected by the end of 2026.

Further priorities include road expansions linking Gatsu Barat to Canggu, Mengwitani, and Werdi Bhuwana—areas that continue to see rising tourism and residential demand.

Beyond infrastructure, Badung’s economic indicators reflect steady growth. Between 2020 and 2025, the region recorded a 6.5 percent economic growth rate, alongside low poverty (1.9 percent) and unemployment (1.57 percent) levels, while maintaining controlled inflation at 2.64 percent.

Together, these efforts signal Badung’s ambition to not only accommodate rising visitor numbers—but to shape a more seamless, high-quality tourism experience across Bali.
