In celebration of one of Bali’s most iconic cultural festivals, The Meru Sanur is proud to present the official pre-event for the Ubud Village Jazz Festival 2025, titled “Seaside Jazz Mantra”, taking place on Wednesday, 30th July 2025, at Bali Beach Garden.

This exclusive event invites guests to indulge in a harmonious blend of live jazz and fine gastronomy in an enchanting seaside garden setting under the stars.

Culinary highlights include a special 6-course wine-paired dinner, a collaboration between Chef Melvin Chou, one of Asia’s youngest Michelin-starred chefs and Head Chef at Terra Tokyo Italian, Singapore and Chef Marco Medaglia, Executive Chef of The Meru Sanur. Chef Melvin brings a modern Tokyo-Italian flair, featuring seasonal ingredients like Amela tomato, Hokkaido scallop, uni, wagyu brisket, and white peach. His creations balance clean, precise Japanese technique with bold Mediterranean influences, delivering bright, elegant flavors that celebrate both simplicity and depth.

The evening will also feature a live jazz performance by Bojan Cvetković Quartet, a rising Serbian jazz pianist and composer known for his genre-blending sound and expressive performance style.

About Bojan Cvetković

Bojan Cvetković is a Serbian jazz pianist and composer known for his expressive style and innovative sound. He leads the Bojan Cvetković Quartet and is a member of the experimental funk-jazz collective Drumbooty.

He has performed internationally with the East West European Jazz Orchestra, appeared at the Made in New York Jazz Festival 2022, and reached a milestone in 2024 with a performance at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

A key figure in Serbia’s jazz scene, Bojan also curates live music at Bluz i Pivo, one of Belgrade’s top jazz venues.

About Chef Melvin Chou

Chef Melvin with his global training spans some of the world’s most prestigious kitchens, including the 2 Michelin-starred Saison (San Francisco), 3 Michelin-starred Nihonryori Ryugin (Tokyo), and The Waterside Inn (UK).

Chef Melvin further sharpened his skills at The Royal Mail Hotel under Dan Hunter (formerly of Mugaritz, Spain), followed by stints at Iggy’s and Cure in Singapore. Melvin joined terra Singapore at the end of 2018, where he played a pivotal role in regaining its Michelin star in 2019. He has served as Head Chef since 2021.
