The Jakarta Government has officially inaugurated Bendera Pusaka Park, a newly integrated public green space in South Jakarta that is now open to visitors 24 hours a day.
Covering 5.6 hectares, the park brings together three long-established neighbourhood parks — Taman Ayodya, Taman Leuser, and Taman Langsat — into a single, expanded green space designed for recreation, sports, and community gatherings.
“With an area including a 1.2-kilometre jogging track, this park is expected to become one of Jakarta’s key public spaces for residents to exercise and enjoy outdoor activities,” said Pramono.
A design inspired by the Indonesian flag
The park’s design draws inspiration from the philosophy of Sang Saka Merah Putih, Indonesia’s national flag. The concept is expressed through two main zones:
1. The Red Zone, designed as an active and dynamic area
2. The White Zone, intended as a calmer, more reflective space
These areas are connected through pedestrian pathways, bridges, and open gathering spaces that allow visitors to explore the entire park seamlessly. The landscape also features 12 types of vegetation and approximately 285 trees, including several rare species such as menteng, ebony, cempaka, and kecapi.
Sports, recreation, and cultural features
Beyond green space, the park features a variety of facilities for sports and community activities, such as a padel court; a multi-purpose sports court for basketball, tennis, and badminton; and an amphitheatre designed for community events and performances.
A statue of Fatmawati Soekarno, the Indonesian national heroine who sewed the original Indonesian Independence Flag, stands within the park as a tribute to her legacy. The sculpture was created by Indonesian artist Teguh Ostenrik, while the overall architectural concept for the park was designed by architect Yori Antar.
Easily accessible by public transport
Located near the busy Blok M district, the park is accessible through several public transportation options in Jakarta. Visitors are encouraged to use public transport, as parking spaces in the area are limited.

Visitors arriving by the KRL Commuterline Jabodetabek can travel to Sudirman Station or Tanah Abang Station, then continue via MRT or TransJakarta to the Blok M area.
