Hope Intercultural School Presents Disney’s Finding Nemo Jr.,
A Global-Quality Performing Arts Production Supporting Education for Children in Papua
More than 200 students from Hope Intercultural School staged the musical production of Disney’s Finding Nemo Jr. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Teater Kecil Taman Ismail Marzuki. The performance became one of the largest Performing Arts productions ever organized by the school and reflected Hope Intercultural School’s commitment to delivering holistic education through arts, creativity, and character development.
As part of the Pelita Harapan Group, which has more than 30 years of experience in the education sector in Indonesia, Hope Intercultural School continues to develop global-standard learning experiences that prepare students to grow academically, creatively, and personally. Through the production of Disney’s Finding Nemo Jr., students gained Performing Arts experience with professionally designed, world-class production quality. From acting, vocals, and dance to cross-grade collaboration, the entire process became a real learning experience that nurtured students’ confidence, communication skills, discipline, creativity, and leadership.

As an International Baccalaureate (IB) school under the Pelita Harapan Group, Hope Intercultural School places Performing Arts as one of the key strengths in its educational approach. The school believes that performing arts are not only a platform for self-expression, but also an important medium for developing character, empathy, courage, and collaboration skills from an early age.
According to Recky Rendy, S.Pd., M.Sc. (Ed.), School System Coordinator at Hope Intercultural School, the core value of this production lies in the character-building process happening behind the scenes.

“Disney’s Finding Nemo Jr. is not only about the performance on stage. Through Performing Arts, we want students to learn to express themselves confidently, work together, take responsibility, and understand that every talent they have can be used to create a positive impact for others,” said Recky.

In addition to being part of students’ educational development, the performance also carried a social mission. All ticket sales proceeds were donated to support education for children in Papua through Yayasan Pendidikan Harapan Papua, particularly to help expand access to education for children in remote areas who still face limitations in facilities and learning opportunities.
Through this initiative, Hope Intercultural School hopes students will not only grow academically and creatively, but also develop social awareness and a spirit of becoming a blessing to the community.
