On 21 May 2026, Artesian introduces SLOW ROOTS, a thoughtfully curated cocktail programme inspired by the richness of Indonesian soil, the rhythm of the seasons, and a profound respect for craftsmanship. The collection reflects a shared philosophy: What grows together, pours together.
More than a menu, SLOW ROOTS is an expression of conscious luxury, where agriculture, artistry, and hospitality converge in a refined sensory experience. Every detail has been considered with purpose: locally harvested seasonal ingredients, menus printed on organic paper, and bespoke coasters handcrafted by using repurposed coffee waste from the bar itself. Nothing is incidental and nothing is wasted. “This is not simply a sustainability initiative,” shares Andrea, Beverages Manager at Artesian Bar Jakarta. “It is our vision for the future of modern hospitality, one rooted in responsibility, sustainability, creativity, and community.”

A Tribute to the Seasons
High above Jakarta’s skyline, SLOW ROOTS invites guests to reconnect with the land beneath it, honouring the farmers, growers, and communities whose work quietly sustains the city. Guided by the spirit of the global Slow Movement, the collection unfolds through four evocative chapters: SOIL, SPROUT, BLOOM, and HARVEST, each reflecting a stage of growth interpreted through Indonesian botanicals and produce.

The collection further elevates the cocktail experience through unexpected innovations — Pandan & Parmesan Cream, MSG Giffard Crème de Cacao White, Satay Sauce Distillate, and Banana Skin Shrub — thoughtfully composed to challenge convention while preserving harmony. Alongside these contemporary creations are reimagined Indonesian signatures including the Tempe Martini, Pie Susu Old Fashioned, Pala Negroni, and Kecombrang Margarita, each crafted as a dialogue between culture, memory and modern mixology.
The Artist Behind the Story
Visually accompanying the collection is the work of Erianto, whose whimsical yet contemplative illustrations bring SLOW ROOTS vividly to life. Known for capturing the poetry within everyday moments, Erianto’s works echo the spirit of the cocktails themselves — playful yet profound, nostalgic yet contemporary. His artistry serves as a reminder that flavour, much like art, is born from shared roots and collective stories.

Crafted with Purpose
At Artesian Jakarta, sustainability is not presented as indulgence nor obligation, but as a natural extension of thoughtful hospitality. In partnership with Liberty Society, coffee waste generated by the hotel is transformed into handcrafted coasters through upcycling initiatives that empower marginalised women across Indonesia. Each piece embodies the beauty of conscious craftsmanship, where elegance and empathy coexist seamlessly. The collaboration extends beyond the bar and back into the soil itself.
Artesian also collaborates with local farms, including Yum Organic and Kebun Mama Organic. YUM Organic Farm, established through the Children’s Village orphanage in Cipanas, now supports the health and wellbeing of more than 10,000 community members through nutrition and education programmes. Artesian proudly contributes 1% of proceeds from selected cocktails to support its continued impact. Meanwhile, Kebun Mama Organic, nestled within the lush highlands of Puncak, began as a mother’s private garden before flourishing into a thriving organic farm. Today, its fruits, herbs, and botanicals lend purity and provenance to many of the cocktails featured throughout the collection.
Beyond that, Artesian maintains its own botanical garden on 65thfloor. This urban oasis allows the bar team to harvest ingredients at their peak freshness. Featured ingredients onsite includes Moringa, Pandan and Lemongrass, ensuring that every garnish and infusion carries the essence of a garden in bloom.
