If you’re ready to swap the traffic jams for rice fields, swap the day clubs for hidden waterfalls, and trade in the beach clubs for secret coves, here’s your passport to Bali’s low-key gems!

Coffee lovers, rejoice. This tiny village in the highlands of North Bali is home to some of the island’s finest Arabica beans. You can wander through coffee plantations, learn the art of traditional roasting, and sip a cup so fresh you’ll swear it has superpowers. The mountain views are just as energizing, with green valleys rolling into the horizon and crisp air that feels like a natural detox.

Belimbing Village

A landscape straight out of a travel magazine, Belimbing is carpeted in shimmering rice terraces that rival (and arguably outshine) the famous Tegalalang. This is rural Bali at its dreamiest – think slow walks along paddy paths, meeting friendly locals, and hearing nothing but the rustle of palm leaves and the chirp of birds. Pack your camera; you’ll need it.

Jasri

Hidden on Bali’s east coast, Jasri is the kind of beach spot you wish you could keep to yourself. Famous for its black sand shores, traditional fishing boats, and a laid-back local vibe, it’s also home to a quirky ‘chocolate factory’ that’s a hit with families and anyone with a sweet tooth. Surfers will find a quiet break here too – no board traffic jams in sight.

Munduk

If Bali had a mountain fairytale village, Munduk would be it. Tucked high in the north, this cool-climate escape is a wonderland of waterfalls, clove plantations, and misty hills. Wake up to views of mountain ridges, trek through the jungle to hidden cascades, and end the day with a hot tea overlooking the sunset. It’s the perfect antidote to Bali’s beachy bustle.

Pemuteran

For those who like their beach holidays tranquil and turtle-friendly, Pemuteran is a dream. This northwestern bay is known for calm turquoise waters, vibrant coral gardens, and eco-friendly resorts. It’s also the gateway to Menjangan Island, one of Indonesia’s best snorkeling and diving spots, where the underwater visibility is so good it feels like swimming through glass.

Pupuan

Another highland gem, Pupuan dishes up endless shades of green, from cascading rice terraces to fruit orchards showing off with bananas, durians, and mangosteens. The winding roads feel like they were made for lazy scooter rides, with every turn revealing a scene so pretty it could be a desktop wallpaper. Along the way, you might stumble upon Vihara Dharma Giri, where a giant Sleeping Buddha statue lounges in pure zen mode, totally unbothered by the world.

Seseh

You’ll find black sand beaches, traditional temples, and fishermen bringing in the day’s catch. It’s perfect for sunset strolls, oceanfront yoga, and soaking up the Bali that still belongs to the locals.

Tejakula

This northeast coastal gem has a rugged charm and a strong community spirit. Known for its traditional weaving, laid-back beaches, and coral-rich waters, Tejakula is the kind of place you come to slow down, recharge, and maybe even learn a craft. There’s also fantastic diving nearby, with reefs that are blissfully free of tourist crowds.
