Race week is no longer defined by the starting line alone. Maya Sanur Resort & Spa, in collaboration with ASICS and Fieldway, presents RUNAWAY 2026, a curated programme bringing together movement, wellness, dining and community in the lead-up to the Maybank Marathon 2026.
Building on the enthusiasm surrounding last year’s RUNAWAY Bali Series, this year’s programme extends beyond running to embrace a broader lifestyle experience. The collaboration responds to the growing interest in active experiences that support physical wellbeing, mental balance and meaningful social connection.
Central to the collaboration is ASICS’ enduring “Sound Mind, Sound Body” philosophy, which recognises the connection between physical activity and mental wellbeing. RUNAWAY 2026 brings this philosophy to life through a series of thoughtfully curated experiences intended to help runners prepare their bodies, calm their minds and feel supported by a like-minded community.
The programme begins on Thursday, 20 August 2026, with Sunset Yoga Session, held at Maya Sanur’s open-air Ceremonial Plaza, the restorative session invites participants to stretch, breathe and centre the mind against the calming backdrop of the Sanur coastline. On Friday, 21 August 2026, the experience continued at Rue with an intimate carb-loading session. Thoughtfully selected dishes were served in a relaxed, communal setting, allowing runners to replenish their energy, connect with fellow members of the running community and share their excitement ahead of race day.
The carb-loading session also marked the launch of the ASICS SONICBLAST 2 and the unveiling of the new RISE & SHINE Collection, featuring fresh colourways across selected ASICS footwear models. Rue was also transformed for the occasion with a specially curated setting by Fieldway and ASICS. ASICS footwear was showcased throughout the venue, including featured models displayed on dedicated podiums and additional pairs integrated into the café’s interior.
The race-week experience continues with the Shake Out Run, a three-kilometre community run starting at Rue and winding through the neighbourhood streets of Sanur. Designed as an accessible and social experience, the run brings participants together to move at a comfortable pace, loosen the body and share positive energy ahead of the culmination of marathon weekend.
