Marriott Business Council Bali reaffirmed its commitment to supporting education and local communities through the successful completion of the third annual Shoes to School initiative, culminating in a donation handover ceremony held on Monday, 5 October 2026 at Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa.
This year, associates from Marriott International hotels across Bali and Lombok came together to donate a total of 2,898 pairs of shoes for students and communities in need. This initiative is part of Marriott International’s Serve360: Doing Good in Every Direction platform, specifically under the Nurture and Empower pillar, which focuses on supporting the well-being, development, and future opportunities of children, youth, and local communities. Through the program, students receive essential footwear that helps them attend school with greater comfort and confidence, supporting their educational journey and helping remove barriers to learning.

This year’s distribution will reach communities across Bali and Lombok, supporting children through 79 foundations across nine regencies in Bali and three schools in Lombok. The donated shoes will be distributed through trusted community partners to help ensure they reach children and families who will benefit most from the program.
The event was attended by representatives from The Department of Social Services for Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection of Bali Province (Dinas Sosial, Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak (Dinsos P3A) Provinsi Bali), as well as children’s welfare foundation (Lembaga Kesejahteraan Sosial Anak) Bukit Kehidupan Ungasan as the foundation partner’s representative who helped facilitate the distribution of the shoes to children in their care.

“Shoes to School is a meaningful example of how Marriott Business Councils across Indonesia bring our Serve360 commitment to life through the Nurture and Empower pillar. By supporting education and investing in the next generation, we hope to create opportunities that can have a lasting impact on individuals, families, and communities. We greatly appreciate the continued commitment shown by Marriott hotels in Bali and Lombok, whose collective efforts over the past three years have helped strengthen the positive impact of this initiative,” said Hector Busto, Chairman of Marriott Business Council Indonesia and General Manager The St. Regis Bali Resort.
