That was exactly the feeling at House of Sababay on Thursday, 27 November 2025, when guests gathered under the trees for a festive Friendsgiving Dinner in collaboration with Bastardo, Bali’s beloved pop-up restaurant.
As the sun softened and lanterns flickered on, a long table stretched across the garden, dressed with flowers, candlelight, and glasses already waiting to be filled. Friends, old and new, arrived in waves, greeted with laughter, hugs, and the unmistakable energy of a night meant to be shared.
The evening opened with Balinese-style canapés paired with Sababay Brut Sparkling (Ascaro & Fiorosa) — fresh, lively bubbles setting the tone for what would unfold into hours of easy conversation and collective celebration. The atmosphere was relaxed and unpretentious: guests toasting, taking photos, clinking glasses, and settling into their seats as the first courses arrived.
At the heart of the table, the main event was unveiled — a beautifully carved golden roasted turkey, served with buttered baby potatoes and a trio of condiments, designed for sharing and lingering. The dish was paired with Sababay Reserve Red, a dry Cabernet Sauvignon blend with ripe blackcurrant and plum, silky tannins, and gentle spice. With every pour, the table grew louder, warmer, more alive.
Between courses, laughter echoed across the garden. Strangers became friends. Stories were traded. Glasses were raised again and again — not just to the food and wine, but to the simple pleasure of being together.
A light Ludisia sorbet refreshed palates before dessert arrived: chocolate orange, rich and comforting, the perfect closing note to a meal that felt both indulgent and familiar. As the night deepened, conversations softened, and no one seemed in any hurry to leave.
