Sthala, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Ubud Bali by Marriott International successfully hosted a special jazz event, "Evening Melodies: A Dine with Balawan," The exclusive evening featured a captivating performance by legendary Balinese guitarist Balawan and his group, Batuan Ethnic Fusion. Held on Balinese's Sarasvati Day, the event took place at the Sungai Restaurant on the hotel's ground floor. The setting was a perfect tribute to the occasion, with elegant lotus arrangements on each table and traditional Balinese-themed decorations that complemented the serene backdrop of the Ubud forest.
Balawan, known for his unique two-neck guitar technique, captivated the audience during a two- hour performance. His group, Batuan Ethnic Fusion, heightened the experience by incorporating elements of the traditional Kecak Dance, adding a dynamic and cultural flair to the jazz melodies. The evening also included a surprise performance by guest artists Clea and Jyestha, who further enchanted the crowd. Guests enjoyed a delightful buffet dinner while taking in the live music. The culinary spread included a variety of dishes, from a fresh salad bar and fish soup to grilled seafood, lamb, beef sirloin, and the Balinese specialty, Ayam Betutu, along with a selection of desserts.
