
Room4Dessert and Powder Room by R4D welcome 2024 World Barista Champion Mikael Jasin to Ubud this April for two back-to-back experiences — a book launch on the 28th, and a collaborative tasting on the 29th. Together, they form a self-contained journey through coffee as literature, philosophy, and finally, flavor.
28 April — Bloom Book Launch at Powder Room, 2–4PM
The series opens at Powder Room with the launch of Bloom: Mikael Jasin on Coffee as an Agent of Change, written by Tigger Chaturabul. Hosted by Laksmi Deneefe of The Shelf Therapy, the afternoon takes the shape of an intimate reading and open conversation — tracing the themes of discipline, mindfulness, and purpose that run through both the book and Mikael's career.
More than biography, Bloom positions coffee as a lens for personal and collective transformation: from execution to awareness, craft to practice. The book will be available in limited quantities at Powder Room, priced at IDR 777,000.

29 April — The Omakafé Experience at Room4Dessert, 2–4PM
The following afternoon, the experience moves to Room4Dessert for a seated tasting collaboration between Mikael Jasin and Chef Will Goldfarb. The Omakafé Experience pairs five omakase-style coffee beverages — each composed with the precision and narrative intent that defines Omakafé's approach — with five courses from Room4Dessert's Season 20 dessert menu; Crepes cake, Porridge, Ginger on Ginger, Mulberry Tings, and Chocolate.
Set across the restaurant's signature multi-space journey, the session is designed as a dialogue: between coffee and dessert, structure and spontaneity, producer and guest.
