Now, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Juanda International Airport Surabaya feature the seamless corridor at immigration.

Indonesia world's first seamless corridors

Indonesia has become the first country in the world to deploy a biometric seamless corridor. Powered by Amadeus’ cutting-edge AI solutions, the first of its kind globally, lets travellers glide through immigration checks without ever stopping.

This barrier-free system is part of the government’s “All Indonesia” program, designed to streamline immigration procedures for international arrivals and boost airport efficiency.

Two seamless corridors are currently being installed at Soekarno–Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, with a third planned for Juanda International Airport in Surabaya.

During the initial rollout, priority access will go to senior travellers and passengers with special needs, who can pre-register through the All Indonesia app.

According to Rudy Daniello, a senior executive at Amadeus, the fusion of digital identity and biometric verification at key airport touchpoints is delivering a truly seamless and secure travel experience—one without documents, without queues, and without physical barriers.

“The seamless corridor is the ‘crown jewel’ of our end-to-end frictionless travel portfolio, helping remove bottlenecks and border queues. Combined with advances in digital identity and biometrics across major airport service points, airlines, airports, and governments can finally offer a smooth and secure journey, free from document checks, lines, and physical obstacles,” Daniello explained, as quoted by Amadeus’ official site.

How it works

1. Advance Data Submission: Travellers share their passport details ahead of time.

2. Pre-Arrival Screening: Background checks are completed before they reach the airport.

3. Final Authentication: The last verification happens as travelers pass through the biometric corridor.

During earlier trials, the corridor handled more than 30 border crossings per minute and processed a total of 50,000 passengers. However, this innovation isn’t entirely new for Indonesia. A similar system was previously used to support the arrival process for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
