Franchise & License Expo Indonesia 2025
Accelerate Partnerships, National Business Opportunities
The Franchise & License Expo Indonesia (FLEI), held on 10–12 October 2025 at the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE) PIK 2, Jakarta, featured government representatives, business associations, and industry players to inaugurate a collaboration between two major sectors; trade and F&B, which continue to drive Indonesia’s economic growth.
Organized by Panorama Media in partnership with the Indonesian Franchise & License Association (WALI) and KADIN Indonesia, FLEI 2025 showcased over 150 brands from 10 business categories, including F&B, retail, beauty, laundry, education, and digital technology.
More than just an exhibition, FLEI served as a meeting hub for entrepreneurs, investors, and brand owners to explore partnership opportunities and scalable business models designed for long-term sustainability.
Benchmark for Indonesia’s Franchise and Partnership Growth
For over a decade, FLEI has been one of Indonesia’s most trusted stages for franchise and business collaboration. Its continued success is supported by the Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, and national business associations working to empower local enterprises.
This year’s event also aligns with the government’s pro-growth initiatives, including the extension of the 0.5% MSME Final Income Tax incentive until 2029 and the PPh 21 DTP tax exemption for tourism and Horeca sectors. Those policies are expected to stimulate spending and job creation.
“We’re seeing more brands ready to expand and form new partnerships. FLEI provides a space where ideas, capital, and entrepreneurial energy can meet and grow together,” said Royanto Handaya, President Director of Panorama Media.
From a policy standpoint, Iqbal Shoffan Shofwan, M.Si., Director General of Domestic Trade, Ministry of Trade, emphasized the vital role of franchising and licensing in strengthening national supply chains and consumer spending.
“With the trade sector contributing over 13% to GDP, the franchise system serves as a bridge between businesses and consumers nationwide. FLEI helps ensure this ecosystem develops inclusively and efficiently,” he noted.
Echoing this, Temmy Satya Permana, Deputy for Small Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia, highlighted the vast potential of MSMEs, which employ over 97% of Indonesia’s workforce and contribute around 60% to GDP.
“FLEI is a strategic platform for small businesses to collaborate, innovate, and expand. With the right franchise and licensing systems, MSMEs can accelerate growth and strengthen the nation’s economic structure,” said Temmy.
Business Outlook 2025–2026: Flexibility and Innovation Take Center Stage
Indonesia’s economy is projected to grow between 5.1% and 5.4% in 2025, with the franchise and partnership sectors seen as new drivers of expansion and innovation.
“Today’s entrepreneurs want business models that are efficient and ready to run. Franchising helps them learn, invest, and operate with lower risks,” said Levita Ginting Supit, Chairwoman of WALI.
Juan Permata Adoe, Vice Chairman for Export Development at KADIN Indonesia, also pointed to the growing global interest in Indonesian brands.
“Local products are gaining more attention internationally. FLEI opens the door for Indonesian businesses to build connections and explore export opportunities,” Juan said.
