Amid fluctuating economic conditions, people are becoming more selective in seeking stable and measurable sources of income. Responding to this need, FLEI Business Show 2026 officially opened today, Thursday (7/5), at JIEXPO Kemayoran, Jakarta.

The 26th edition of Indonesia’s franchise and partnership business exhibition is presented as a solution for aspiring entrepreneurs to start businesses with more manageable risks through proven systems. Running until May 10, 2026, the exhibition is held alongside Café & Brasserie Expo (CBE) and MoreFood Expo, creating the most comprehensive F&B business and partnership ecosystem within one venue.

The official opening was attended by representatives from various ministries and associations, including the Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Creative Economy, Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as well as KADIN Indonesia and the WALI Association. Full support from multiple ministries reinforces FLEI’s position as a national strategic agenda. The presence of these regulators highlights that the entrepreneurship sector is a key driver of economic growth and a current national priority.

Data from the Ministry of Trade as of February 2026 recorded the issuance of 165 domestic Franchise Registration Certificates (STPW) and 162 international certificates, signaling strong growth in this sector despite economic slowdown. Moreover, the strategic role of MSMEs continues to strengthen, contributing more than 60% to Indonesia’s GDP and absorbing 97% of the national workforce.

“We are living in a world full of uncertainty. Wars, supply chain disruptions, energy pressures, and inflation threats have become daily headlines. However, amidst all of this, there is one fact often overlooked. Official data shows that Indonesia’s economy in 2025 grew by 5.11%, higher than the previous year. In fact, the service sector grew by nearly 10%,” said Royanto Handaya, President Director of Panorama Media.

This year’s event is made even more special with the participation of BCA as the Official Banking Partner for the first time. This move confirms that Indonesia’s franchise sector has evolved into a credible investment ecosystem trusted by major financial institutions. BCA plays a role as an enabler, helping aspiring entrepreneurs execute their business plans through easier access to capital and exclusive promotions during the exhibition.

Since the gates opened at 10:00 AM WIB, thousands of visitors crowded the registration area to explore more than 150 brands from various sectors. Enthusiasm was also visible in the Business Conference area, where practitioners, renowned brand founders, and investors shared business strategies directly with attendees. Throughout the four-day exhibition, visitors can enjoy various offers such as exclusive partnership promotions, special investment packages, bonuses for equipment, and business mentoring support. Strategic seminars are also available, covering topics such as selecting the right franchise and scaling strategies amid fluctuating economic conditions.

“Franchising is becoming increasingly relevant because the system is ready-to-use and the risks are measurable. This can be a real option for professionals who want to own a business without having to leave their primary jobs,” said Levita Ginting Supit, Chairwoman of the WALI Association.
