Daraloka : Asa Dara

Daraloka, a Community Development initiative organized by Marketing Communication students at LSPR Institute of Communication & Business, successfully held its main event, Asa Dara, at Tamananda Lifestyle Park, Cilandak, on Sunday, July 26, 2026. Under the theme “Beyond the Stigma: How Indonesian Culture Shapes Women’s Wounds,” the event encouraged the public to gain a deeper understanding of women’s hormonal health, particularly PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome), while raising awareness of the social and cultural stigma that women in Indonesia continue to face.

The event began with a PMOS Yoga session, followed by a press conference attended by LSPR Institute of Communication & Business faculty advisors, the Founder of the Kata Nona Community, the Head of Daraloka, and media partners to introduce the campaign and share the vision behind the Daraloka initiative.

As part of creating a more engaging experience, Daraloka presented “Dara Bersuara,” an interactive exhibition highlighting stories of stigma, social pressure, and the personal journeys of PMOS fighters. Visitors explored a variety of interactive installations, including a Visual Installation, an Audio Experience facilitated by Love Line, a Message of Love, and an Interactive Wall. The exhibition was created in collaboration with more than ten local artists, all united by the goal of raising awareness, fostering empathy, and creating a safe space where women can support one another.

The event’s main program featured a talk show titled “Menjadi Perempuan” (Becoming a Woman), which explored the impact of social stigma, cultural expectations, and societal pressures on women, particularly those living with PMOS. The discussion featured dr. Mahatmasara Adhiwasa, Sp.OG, RA Oriza Sativa, S.Psi., Psi., CH., CCR, Prily Soetiman, and Aya Canina, and was moderated by Hapsa Arafa.

To encourage self-reflection, participants also joined two workshops by Flora Craftee: “Rangkai Rupa Diri: Bracelet Charm,” where participants created charm bracelets symbolizing support from their loved ones, and “Rangkai Rupa Diri: Flower Arrangement,” which invited participants to arrange flowers as an expression of self-love and self-acceptance.

The event concluded with a “No Sad Songs” Karaoke Night, where participants exchanged cards reading “You Made Someone’s Night Better” as a gesture of appreciation before ending the evening with a performance by DJ Tithanauli.

“Daraloka is a great example of how concepts and theories can be put into practice through a real event, campaign, and activation, both offline and online, involving the collaboration of many partners. It has also helped build a better understanding among participants and audiences of PMOS, equality, and inclusivity,” said Melvin Bonardo Simanjuntak, M.I.Kom, lecturer of the Community Development course.

“Through Daraloka, Kata Nona believes that opening up the conversation around PMOS is a way of standing with women honoring their bodies and psychosocial challenges, while paving the way for broader collaboration with other communities,” said Aya Canina, Founder of the Kata Nona Community.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors of Karyadeka Group, we extend our sincere appreciation to the Marketing Communications Department of LSPR Institute of Communication & Business for entrusting Tamananda Park as the venue for ASA DARA, a collaboration between Daraloka and Kata Nona. It has been a privilege to support this event, and we remain committed to fostering meaningful collaborations that inspire creativity, innovation, and excellence. We extend our sincere appreciation for the trust placed in us and wish the event every success,” said Ovie Noviarani, from the Event and Partnership Team at Tamananda Lifestyle Park.

Through this series of activities, Daraloka hopes to encourage more people to care about women’s hormonal health, gain a better understanding of PMOS, and work together to create a more supportive and stigma-free environment.
