Bandung’s nights are always alive, but nothing quite matches the sparkle of Nite Owl Market (NOM) — the city’s signature outdoor night market that turns creativity, flavors, and community into one magical experience. For its special “Boo & Brew” edition, NOM transformed Bumi Hejo, Kota Baru Parahyangan into a glowing Halloween wonderland, complete with floating candles, festive parades, and laughter echoing under the stars.

Celebrating Halloween at Nite Owl Market turned out to be one of the best weekend decisions for our family. The whole place looked stunning — filled with spooky yet playful decorations that made the atmosphere feel so festive. From the glowing Halloween Tunnel lined with floating candles to cheerful Trick or Treat stations and the lively Hay Parade led by the Boo Crew and Scarecrow Squad, every corner was bursting with color and joy.

Bringing the kids here was the perfect way to spend the weekend. The little ones were mesmerized by the cute animals at Zoomanji, where they could meet and feed rabbits, and even spot an owl — a perfect touch that made Halloween feel a bit more real and exciting.

Older kids had their share of fun too — joining the face painting and craft workshops at Arta Craft, proudly showing off their spooky or glittery creations afterward. And while the kids were happily exploring, us parents finally had a moment to relax — trying out the playful Hammerschlagen challenge, browsing through local crafts at Fiyelle, Milkberry, and Lumiere Bag.

In the center of it all, the Atomix Bubble Garden was the star attraction. Gigantic bubbles floated through the cool night air, shimmering under colorful lights — catching everyone’s attention, young and old alike. I don’t think there was anyone who didn’t stop to take a photo or try making a giant bubble themselves.
As the night grew cooler — and even when light rain started to fall — the market stayed vibrant. The Food & Beverage area was filled with comforting aromas and endless choices, from savory bites to sweet desserts.
One of the absolute must-tries was Adana Kebab, cooked by a native Turkish chef. The kebab was not only delicious but also impressively large — perfectly seasoned, juicy, and grilled to perfection. Another favorite was the Sate Taichan Jumbo, uniquely grilled above daun pisang (banana leaves), giving it a smoky aroma and rich, flavorful taste that stood out from any regular sate.

I couldn’t have asked for a better dinner than a steaming bowl of Mie Kocok Bandung or Baso Rachman Garut, both perfect companions for the breezy evening. The kids loved their crispy Cireng Cobek and sweet treats from Let’s Go Gelato, Wynne Patisserie, and Tale’s Korean Snow Ice.
Before heading home, we stopped by the Casa de Petto Photo Spot, where the Halloween-themed installations made for the perfect family photo backdrop. Between the floating lights, the laughter, and our happy (slightly tired) faces, it was the kind of night that felt special — one that the kids will talk about for weeks. Even as the music softened and the lights dimmed, the fun lingered in the air — the kind of warmth that makes you look forward to the next edition.
