For Indonesians, batik is more than just fabric—it is a cherished cultural treasure, carrying stories of heritage, artistry, and identity. Every year, National Batik Day is celebrated to honor its beauty and significance. This year, a special event at Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar brought this tradition to life through a collaboration with ULTIMA II and Dama Kara Batik. The celebration was divided into two parts: a Beauty and Batik Class on September 29th, and a Fashion Show and Beauty Talk Show on October 3rd.

The Beauty and Batik Class carried the tagline “Batik, Cantik, Unik” and instantly resonated because it reflected Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar’s image—stylish, inspiring, and full of character.

The event beautifully combined the worlds of beauty and fashion. With ULTIMA II, we explored how skincare and makeup can enhance natural confidence. Guided by experts, practical tips were shared that could be immediately applied to daily routines, from creating a fresh, natural look to experimenting with small techniques that make a big difference. The session was interactive and hands-on, giving participants the chance to practice and see immediate results.

Afterward, the focus shifted to fashion with Dama Kara Batik. This Bandung-based brand, already recognized internationally, showcased a collection that proved batik can be both timeless and versatile. Guests were encouraged to mix and match tops, skirts, and pants to create personal styles, demonstrating that batik is not just traditional, but also modern, elegant, and adaptable to different personalities.

The celebration continued with the Fashion Show and Beauty Talk Show on October 3rd. The runway brought Dama Kara Batik’s latest collection to life, showcasing how the fabric can be styled for everything from chic office wear to casual, contemporary outfits. The accompanying talk show, featuring the creative mind behind the stunning collection, offered inspiring insights into the design process and the story behind each piece.

By the end of the celebration, the collaboration between Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar, ULTIMA II, and Dama Kara Batik had beautifully embodied the spirit of “Batik, Cantik, Unik.” More than just an event, it served as a celebration of culture, creativity, and confidence, showcasing how tradition and modernity can come together to inspire everyday style and self-expression.
