A Wickedly Good Halloween Feast at InterContinental Bandung Dago Pakar

Halloween dinners are even better when the food gets just as much attention as the decorations. At Damai Restaurant, InterContinental Bandung Dago Pakar, The Haunted Tables brought together an extensive buffet spread, creative Halloween-inspired dishes, and a dining atmosphere straight out of Wednesday and the Addams Family. Even the weather seemed to play along, with rain and occasional flashes of lightning just as we started dinner.

Before getting into the food, the restaurant's transformation deserves a mention. Damai Restaurant embraced a gothic-inspired look, complete with dim lighting and Wednesday-inspired decorations that created a dark and mysterious atmosphere. It felt like stepping into the world of the Addams Family, making the setting all the more fitting for a Halloween dinner.
The food was undoubtedly one of the biggest highlights of the evening. Rather than simply adding spooky names to familiar buffet dishes, The Haunted Tables featured a variety of Halloween-inspired creations spread across several stations.

One of the stations worth exploring was The Haunted Carvery, serving hearty selections such as Short Ribs and Ayam Bakakak, a traditional Indonesian grilled chicken dish. It was nice to see local favourites included in the spread, offering a taste of familiar Indonesian flavours alongside the international selections.

Adding to the spread, the live grill station featured another tempting selection of Lamb Chop Satay, Premium Striploin, and Charred Corn, bringing more freshly grilled favourites to the table.
The Halloween spirit continued throughout the buffet with signature creations such as The Addams Family Burger, Wednesday's Black Pasta, The Haunted Oven (Pizza), alongside a variety of Nusantara dishes. From playful Halloween-inspired names to familiar Indonesian favourites, there was a good balance of creative specials and local flavours to explore.

If there's one part of the buffet we'd recommend saving some room for, it's the dessert selection. The sweet treats continued the Halloween theme with creations such as Black Monster Choux and Brain Velvet, making the dessert counter just as eye-catching as the savoury stations. Our personal favourite, however, was Raven's Nest Cake. Despite its rich chocolate appearance, the cake was surprisingly light and fluffy, making it a comforting yet delightful treat. Gothic Chocolate Bread Pudding was another dessert worth trying to round off the feast.

Younger diners weren't left out either. A dedicated kids' station offered familiar favourites such as chicken nuggets, Swamp Macs, and potato wedges, giving little guests their own selection to enjoy.
Beyond the buffet, guests could also enjoy complimentary face painting, adding a playful touch to the evening, especially for families with children. With its gothic-inspired setting, an extensive buffet of creative dishes, and thoughtful extras throughout the night, The Haunted Tables made for a memorable Halloween dining experience. Though the celebration has wrapped up for this year, it was certainly a fun way to spend Halloween evening at InterContinental Bandung Dago Pakar.
