Yogyakarta, August 2026 — Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta brought Indonesian cultural heritage to life through Jamu Party, a celebration held at Pendopo Agung Royal Ambarrukmo in collaboration with Remen Jawi and Wiratea Spices Bar. Carrying the theme “A Feast of Colours, Spices, and Indonesian Stories,” the event explored jamu through flavours, stories, traditional knowledge, and local creativity as part of Indonesia’s Independence Month celebration.

Jamu Party offers a contemporary way for younger generations to experience and appreciate Indonesia’s living cultural heritage.
More than a celebration of traditional drinks, Jamu Party presented jamu from a more contemporary perspective. The programme brought together interactive jamu presentations, a talk show, and a traditional snack market, creating an experience that connected cultural storytelling, education, community empowerment, and social awareness.
One of the main highlights was the collaboration between Wiratea Spices Bar and mbok jamu from five traditional markets across Yogyakarta. Together, they presented a selection of jamu and spice-based beverages, showing how jamu remains part of everyday Indonesian culture while continuing to find new ways to connect with modern audiences.
This approach makes Jamu Party more than a culinary event. Jamu carries generations of knowledge about balance, wellbeing, and the relationship between people and nature. Through a creative and contemporary presentation, the celebration introduced these values to younger audiences while keeping their cultural roots at the centre.
The celebration also highlighted Indonesia’s textile heritage through Batik Enom, which joined as the Official Wastra Partner. Batik Enom curated traditional-inspired outfits for selected kangmas and mbakyu, showing how batik can remain a meaningful part of Indonesian identity while adapting to the style and spirit of today’s generation.
Meanwhile, Moro Seneng added a nostalgic culinary element by presenting traditional Indonesian snacks inspired by flavours from past generations. Paired with jamu, the snacks created a connection to childhood memories while giving younger visitors an opportunity to rediscover traditional foods and their stories.

Together, the collaborations expanded the story beyond jamu itself. Traditional beverages, Indonesian wastra, local food, and community stories came together as different parts of Indonesia’s living cultural heritage. Each element brought its own character while contributing to one shared cultural experience.
For Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta, Jamu Party reflects its commitment to creating meaningful experiences inspired by Indonesia’s cultural wealth. Through its collaboration with Remen Jawi, Wiratea Spices Bar, Batik Enom, Moro Seneng, mbok jamu, and local creative communities, the hotel aims to encourage younger generations to discover, appreciate, and carry Indonesian heritage into contemporary life while respecting the traditions passed down through generations.
Set within the historic Pendopo Agung Royal Ambarrukmo, Jamu Party brought together heritage, hospitality, and community, creating a space where Indonesian cultural stories could be experienced, shared, and given new life.
