Francophonie Week has been a significant event worldwide since 1988, celebrating the cultural diversity of French speakers. Today, under the auspices of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), there are over 321 million French speakers worldwide, making it one of the largest linguistic communities globally.
Each year, the embassies of French-speaking countries in Jakarta participate in this celebration through Francophonie Week, which serves as a platform for the Francophone community in Indonesia to gather, share their culture, and introduce their rich traditions to the wider community. Joining the celebration, the Institut Français d'Indonésie, in collaboration with Grand Hotel De Djokja, presents a unique dining experience.

At this event, guests are invited not only to enjoy delicious cuisine but also to engage in cultural dialogue in an elegant evening setting. Embracing the concept of cross-cultural gastronomy, this event also featured a five-course set menu inspired by three countries: Madagascar, Mali, and France.

Strikingly, this collaboration also involved French-speaking students from various countries living in Yogyakarta who shared their favorite traditional dishes with the hotel's culinary team, who then reinterpreted the new dishes by the chefs, maintaining their authentic essence. Grand Hotel De Djokja's participation also represents a strategic step to strengthen its position as a heritage-based hospitality destination in Yogyakarta.

Grand Hotel De Djokja aims to present an experience that combines culture, stories, and flavors, while aiming to continue expanding its international reach and affirming its role as the venue of choice for exclusive, intimate, and sophisticated events.
