BASHA Market is returning to Surabaya with its latest edition, BASHA: Livin’ in Paradis, bringing together more than 150 local brands at the Next Gen Multipurpose Hall Surabaya from 27 to 30 August 2026. Supported by Visa, the four-day creative market marks another step in BASHA’s 12-year journey of supporting Indonesia’s growing creative industry.
More than a market, BASHA creates a space for local creativity to connect.

Known as one of the pioneers of creative markets in Indonesia, BASHA continues to create a space where local brands, creators, and consumers can meet directly. This year, the event is also extending its duration to four days, allowing visitors more time to explore the brands, products, and experiences on offer. The return of BASHA comes at a time when many local brands are facing new challenges. From changing consumer expectations and rising raw material costs to new regulations, online fatigue, and limited spaces for collaboration, creative businesses are constantly looking for new ways to remain relevant.

Through BASHA: Livin’ in Paradis, the organisers aim to provide a platform where local brands can continue to move forward and connect with their audiences. BASHA Co-Founder Christie Erin explained that organising this year’s event involved careful consideration due to the current economic situation. After discussions with different communities and industry players, the team decided to continue with the event. According to Erin, BASHA is not focused only on sales or commercial targets. Instead, the event aims to help keep the creative economy moving by giving local brands a space to meet consumers and remain connected with the creative community.

For BASHA Co-Founder Devina Sugono, creative markets remain an important part of the local creative ecosystem because they offer something that online shopping cannot fully replace. She explained that direct shopping creates a different emotional experience. Visitors can interact with creators, see products up close, and sometimes even try them before making a purchase. This year, BASHA: Livin’ in Paradis also welcomes brands from outside Surabaya, including creators and businesses from Bandung, Jakarta, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Bali, and other cities across Indonesia. Some of the participating brands are also joining BASHA for the first time, creating opportunities for visitors to discover new names and products.

The participating brands cover a wide range of categories, including fashion, lifestyle, mom and kids, skincare, fragrance, home and living, eyewear, activewear, and food and beverages. More than 20% of the participating brands are newcomers to BASHA. Some of the names include Alexalexa, Josephine Anni, BYO, Nappa Milano, Atsiri, Nomad Studio, Mandys, and HSF Eyewear, among others. BASHA is known for its careful curation process to maintain the quality and character of the brands presented at each event. The organisers consider several factors, including branding, customer reviews, commercial value, and relevance to the target market. This year’s selection also reflects changing consumer interests. Alongside lifestyle and fashion brands, visitors can find more products related to active lifestyles and sports. BASHA has also expanded its selection for male consumers, responding to feedback from previous editions.

More than a shopping destination, BASHA: Livin’ in Paradis is designed as a colourful experience that combines nostalgia, music, visual aesthetics, and human connection. Under the concept “a world of experiences,” the event encourages visitors to explore the space, discover new brands, meet creators, and connect with other visitors. Devina said BASHA aims to become a destination with its own character, where visitors can leave with experiences that go beyond the products they purchase. The collaboration with Livin’ and Visa also supports the wider goal of strengthening the creative economy. Their participation provides local brands with opportunities to expand their market reach while connecting with more consumers through an engaging shopping experience.
