Plaza Indonesia Celebrates I Love Indonesia 2026 Through Cultural,
Creative, and Local Brand Collaborations
In celebration of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, Plaza Indonesia once again presents I Love Indonesia 2026, an annual campaign that celebrates Indonesia’s cultural richness through collaborations with creative industry players, designers, cultural communities, musicians, as well as local brands and MSMEs.
Carrying the spirit that Indonesian culture will continue to thrive when it evolves and remains relevant to contemporary life, I Love Indonesia 2026 presents a series of programs that bring together cultural heritage with creativity, innovation, and collaboration. Through four main initiatives, namely PI Neighborhood Icons Market, documentary series Reinventing Tenun: Journey to Algorithm, Snada Indonesia 2026, and The Sacred Horse of Sumba Exhibition, Plaza Indonesia offers various ways to appreciate Indonesian culture, from supporting local creations and exploring Nusantara textiles, to celebrating Indonesian music and delivering immersive cultural experiences.

“Through I Love Indonesia, we aim to present more than just a series of programs. We want to create a collaborative space that brings together culture, creativity, and innovation, allowing Indonesia’s cultural heritage to continue living, evolving, and being appreciated by more generations. The four programs presented this year reflect Plaza Indonesia’s commitment to continuously supporting Indonesia’s creative ecosystem through meaningful collaborations,” said Zamri Mamat, Chief Marketing Officer of Plaza Indonesia.
PI Neighborhood Icons Market, one of the programs presented by Plaza Indonesia, is a bazaar taking place from August 10–23, 2026, at Plaza Indonesia Warehouse. Featuring selected local MSMEs and brands, the program serves as a platform for creative entrepreneurs to introduce their works to a wider audience while strengthening Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem. This year, PI Neighborhood Icons Market will feature several local brands, including Carpenter’s Bakehouse, Esteboo, Excelso, Marc & Mich Bakery, Oschusan, The Pandan Club, Roti Macan, Smooth, Suasana Kopi, Teazzi, The Matcha Tokyo, and The Paper Hotel.
Plaza Indonesia also introduces Reinventing Tenun: Journey to Algorithm, a six-episode documentary series following designer Wilsen Willim’s journey in developing his first couture collection through the exploration of Indonesian traditional textiles from Halaban, Jembrana, Bandung, and Putussibau. By incorporating upcycled denim threads into authentic woven fabrics from various regions, this documentary presents a fresh perspective on how cultural heritage can continue to evolve through creativity, innovation, and sustainability.
“This journey reminded me that every region in Indonesia has its own story, identity, and valuable textile heritage. Through this documentary, I hope to encourage more people to see that traditional fabrics are not only cultural heritage, but also a living source of inspiration that can be translated into contemporary creations,” said Wilsen Willim.
Continuing the I Love Indonesia 2026 celebration, Plaza Indonesia together with Oppal once again presents Snada Indonesia 2026, a musical performance celebrating Indonesia’s cultural richness through melodic harmony and cross-generational collaboration. This year, Snada Indonesia will bring together some of the nation’s most celebrated musicians with Rumah Orkestra Jogja, an Indonesian youth orchestra community that delivers fresh, elegant, and energetic interpretations of Nusantara’s musical works.

“Through Snada Indonesia, we want to show that music has the power to connect generations while celebrating Indonesia’s cultural identity. Together with Plaza Indonesia, we present a performance that combines talent, collaboration, and the spirit of continuing to bring Nusantara’s creations to life in a format that is relevant to today’s society,” said Bernard Permadi, CEO & Founder of Oppal.
The celebration this year is further enriched by the presence of The Sacred Horse of Sumba, the main installation featured in the exhibition Loom & Legend: Beyond Luxury Amidst the Mundane, a collaboration between Luxina, Cita Tenun Indonesia, NUSAE, The Riserva, and supported by various Indonesian luxury brands. The exhibition takes place from August 5–31, 2026, at the Main Corridor Level 1 of Plaza Indonesia.
Highlighting Indonesia’s equestrian heritage through the philosophy of horse motifs found in Sumba’s traditional textiles, the exhibition is part of the Independence Day celebration of the Republic of Indonesia while also commemorating Luxina’s 10th anniversary and Cita Tenun Indonesia’s 18th anniversary. Located at the Fashion Corridor Level 1 of Plaza Indonesia, the installation offers a unique exploration of Nusantara textiles beyond conventional textile exhibitions. Through a contemporary approach, visitors are invited to understand the meaning of horses as symbols of honor, prosperity, and an essential part of Sumba’s cultural life passed down through generations.
“The Sacred Horse of Sumba is a celebration of Indonesia’s cultural richness presented through a contemporary perspective. Through cross-industry collaboration, we hope visitors will not only enjoy the beauty of this installation but also gain a deeper understanding of the philosophy and cultural values behind Sumba’s traditional textiles,” said Syahmedi Dean, Editorial Director of Luxina.
Through I Love Indonesia 2026, Plaza Indonesia reaffirms its commitment as a premium lifestyle destination that goes beyond shopping experiences, serving as a space to celebrate culture, support creativity, and strengthen collaborations that inspire the creation of Indonesian works.
