ORIJIN JAPANESE DINING CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING,
MARKING A NEW CHAPTER OF JAPANESE DINING IN JAKARTA AFTER 50 YEARS
ORIJIN JAPANESE DINING officially celebrated its Grand Opening on 5 June 2026, unveiling a renewed dining destination at Sari Pacific Jakarta, Autograph Collection – Lobby Level. The occasion welcomed media, industry partners, and invited guests for an evening dedicated to Japanese culture and cuisine.

The celebration commenced with a soothing koto performance, followed by a captivating and energetic taiko performance and a traditional Kagami Biraki ceremony, symbolizing prosperity and new beginnings, and concluded with a graceful geisha dance performance. The evening reflected the spirit of ORIJIN itself: an establishment deeply rooted in tradition while embracing acontemporary vision for the future.

The opening marks a significant milestone for a restaurant whose story started in 1976. A place loved by generations, ORIJIN derived from the word “original”—has long been regarded as a symbol of beginnings and the first of its kind within Jakarta’s Japanese culinary landscape. ORIJIN is built on a powerful philosophy: that everything has a story, a source, a pure beginning.
Today, the restaurant enters a new era under the guidance of Chef Tomoaki Ito, whose connection to the venue spans generations. Signature dishes including Robatayaki Gindara, Hamachi Kama, and Japanese Wagyu Miyazaki Sirloin A5 continue to define the menu. Alongside them are newer creations such as Gindara Misoyaki, Hamachi Kama ORIJIN-age, and Yakiniku Gyu Karubi, reflecting an evolving approach to Japanese cuisine. Guests can also discover comforting appetizers including Torikawa Ponzu ORIJIN and Gyutan Nikujaga, before concluding with desserts such as the signature ORIJIN Cheesecake.

The redesigned space takes inspiration from the comfort of a modern Japanese home. Warm lighting, natural materials, Japanese brickwork, Italian marble, and greenery create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Guests can choose between the main dining area, five private dining rooms, the signature robatayaki counter, a dedicated sushi bar, or the live teppanyaki counter. The design encourages guests to slow down, connect, and experience Japanese hospitality in its purest form.
Now officially open, ORIJIN JAPANESE DINING welcomes guests daily for à la carte lunch from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM and dinner from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The reopening marks the beginning of its next chapter, welcoming both returning guests and a new generation of diners to evolve while remaining true to its origins.
