Another proud achievement comes from renowned Indonesian accessory designer Rinaldy A. Yunardi. Superstar Kylie Jenner once again wears his creations for the campaign of her latest makeup collection from Kylie Cosmetics, King Kylie.
In a phone call with the What's New Indonesia team, Rinaldy A. Yunardi, familiarly known as Koh Yung, warmly shared his story of creating the collection for Kylie Jenner. Surprisingly, Koh Yung had less than a month to create the collection.
"For this campaign, the team simply said they wanted a crown, a round one, not a tiara. So, the request was a round shape, black color, and a medium size, not too big and not too small," Koh Yung explained.
It wasn't without challenges, as Koh Yung had to give his best, from the design process to the crown's completion and delivery.
"Kylie has worn my work about two or three times now, and yes, I always learn from every project I receive. There weren't any significant obstacles, but because of the long distance and short timeframe, I tried my best, because revisions weren't possible."
For this work, Koh Yung didn't take inspiration from the ancient warrior-style crowns. He envisioned a more modern crown shape that would fit Kylie Jenner's beautiful, elegant, and luxurious image.
"I wasn't told what outfit this crown would be worn with, so I simply fulfilled their request. It had to be black, but I added sparkling stones to create a luxurious impression, befitting Kylie Jenner's image."
Koh Yung admitted that even now, he still feels like he's facing a surprise challenge when he receives a new project. But this is where he continues to learn to give his best.
"I'm still nervous. If I could fly there, it would be great. Whatever they need, I could give it straight away. All I can do now is give my best, so that when they do, my work will speak for itself. When I finally sent the crown, I didn't get a notification whether I'd wear it or not, so when the photo was published, I was truly happy and eternally grateful."

Rinaldy A. Yunardi's work has traveled the world, worn by global superstars like Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Kylie Jenner. But it's not just international success that makes Koh Yung love what he does. It turns out that the small, everyday moments with his clients also bring him joy.
"I just had a client who's getting married soon. Seeing her so happy wearing my work made me so happy."
Rinaldy A. Yunardi loves his work like his own children. Koh Yung's long journey has taught him that to create, one must continually learn and progress until the work speaks for itself.
"I liken my work this time to the song 'Golden' by K-pop band Demon Hunters. This song inspires and perfectly illustrates that the journey to achieving excellence isn't instantaneous; it takes time and isn't easy. It's about how we continue to fight for something we truly love," Koh Yung concluded at the end of the call.
