Glitz Production hosted an exclusive press conference and showcase for Dreamgirls The Musical at Glitz Inclusive, Kuningan City, highlighting the musical’s enduring message of women empowerment, ambition, and resilience in the world of entertainment. Under the theme “Empowering Women in Entertainment: Why Dreamgirls Still Matters Today,” the event brought together the creative team and main cast for an inspiring evening filled with discussion, live performances, and a celebration of female voices in the arts.

The first session featured Producer Kedung Soejaya, Director Hans de Waal, Vocal Director Gina Dewi, and Choreographer Mumu Harmoun, who shared the creative vision and process behind bringing the Broadway classic to life in Indonesia. The second session featured guest speaker Andrea Miranda, a celebrated singer and musical theater performer, alongside the show’s leading ladies Lydia Napitupulu (Effie White), Cheryl Mesa Barlianto (Deena Jones), and Ariella Hamid (Lorell Robinson). Together, they discussed the challenges and growth of women in the entertainment industry, connecting the musical’s 1960s setting with today’s realities.

Audiences were treated to a series of show-stopping preview performances, including “Fake Your Way to the Top,” “I Am Changing,” “Steppin’ to the Bad Side,” and “Dreamgirls.” Each number captured the soul, R&B, and pop essence that has made the musical a timeless classic; giving guests a first look at what to expect ahead of the show’s official Jakarta run from 27 November to 7 December 2025.
