ART JAKARTA GARDENS Opens Today!

Today marks the opening of Art Jakarta Gardens, a unique celebration of contemporary art nestled within the serene surroundings of Hutan Kota by Plataran, Jakarta. Running from April 23 to April 28, 2024, this extraordinary event brings together 23 notable galleries and showcases 30 captivating outdoor sculptures and installations, offering visitors an immersive experience that seamlessly merges art and nature.

In its third edition, Art Jakarta Gardens continues to embody the essence of collaboration, with stakeholders from the art and creative sectors coming together to support this innovative initiative. The inauguration ceremony, graced by Hilmar Farid, the Director General of Culture at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, highlights the significance of this event in fostering a harmonious relationship between nature and artistic expression.

Reflecting on the event's importance, Hilmar Farid remarked, "Art Jakarta Gardens symbolizes the synergy between nature and artistic expression, providing the public with a unique opportunity to engage with art in a broader context. This platform not only involves artists and art enthusiasts but also serves as a space for everyone to appreciate aesthetic values amidst Jakarta's natural environment."

Also present at the event is Mohammad Amin, the Director of Film, Music, and Animation at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, who commended the success of Art Jakarta Gardens in growing into a prominent event, even amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic.

Conceived in 2022 during the height of the pandemic, Art Jakarta Gardens has evolved into a highly anticipated annual art event, thanks to the overwhelming support from the art community. Maulana Indraguna Sutowo, CEO of MRA, expressed pride in Art Jakarta Gardens' evolution, highlighting its role in providing a platform for artistic expression and appreciation.

This year, Art Jakarta Gardens aims to expand its reach and attract a wider audience with its innovative approach to showcasing contemporary art. Featuring its signature programme, the Sculpture Garden, the event exhibits works from outstanding artists across generations, offering a diverse range of artistic expressions.

Two Lead Partners, Bibit and Treasury, have collaborated to bring Art Jakarta Gardens to life. Bibit, a digital investment app, aims to democratize access to financial literacy, while Treasury, Indonesia's premier digital platform for physical gold trading, seeks to forge connections between investment and contemporary art.

Olivia Budiono, Product Marketing Lead of Bibit, emphasized the importance of providing accessible investment opportunities for everyone, regardless of their background. Meanwhile, Andreas Santoso, CEO of Treasury, unveiled the collaboration with artist Naufal Abshar to highlight the theme 'Gold is King' through monumental artworks.

Art Jakarta Gardens invites the public to immerse themselves in a world of creativity, exploring a diverse array of artworks in both indoor and outdoor settings. Visitors can appreciate art against the backdrop of Jakarta's urban oasis, where Hutan Kota by Plataran has been transformed into a dynamic open-air gallery.
